Director of Programs & SBCC National Coordinator
Tony Legault. A high school biology teacher for 25 years, Mr. Legault joined BEC as the Toronto Coordinator for the Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge in 2003. He served as chair of the 2nd Annual National Bioscience Educators’ Conference (NBEC) is 2008 and as co-chair for NBEC 2009 and NBEC 2011. He is a member of the National Association of Biology Teachers and the Science Teachers Association of Ontario.
Administrative Coordinator
Christy Hockley. A Seneca College graduate, Christy studied Chemical Laboratory Technology – Pharmaceutical program and has over 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a pharmaceutical lab/chemical technologist. She joined BEC in September 2011. Christy plays a key role as the point of contact for all regional coordinators and supports the SBCC in a variety of administrative roles.
Executive Director
Rick Levick. BEC Executive Director. As a public relations consultant and writer, with over 25 years of professional experience, Rick has provided public relations counsel and services to various federal and Ontario government departments and to major corporations such as Bell Canada and Aventis Pasteur. In addition, Rick has provided senior leadership to the SBCC since its inception. He currently serves on the editorial board of BIOTECanada’s Insight’s magazine.
